# Data license

> **This tool does not include, host, or redistribute any data.**
> `abgeordnetenwatch-cli` is a *client*. It only accesses data served live by
> **abgeordnetenwatch.de**. That data is theirs and is governed by **their**
> terms, summarized below. The license of this CLI's own source code is a
> separate matter — see [LICENSING.md](LICENSING.md).

## Notes & caveats

- The structured register data is released under **CC0 1.0**, so it may be freely
  used, modified, combined and redistributed — including commercially — with no
  copyright obligation.
- The data contains **personal data** (politicians' names, biographies, votes,
  side-income disclosures). CC0 waives *copyright*, not data-protection law:
  GDPR/DSGVO obligations still apply to how you process and publish it,
  independent of the licence.
- Free-text/HTML fields (e.g. a poll's `field_intro`, a side job's
  `additional_information`) may quote third-party material; use within the
  bounds of applicable law.
- CC0 covers the **data**. The abgeordnetenwatch.de **website, logo and branding**
  are not part of this dedication.
